History of Camelot School

Thank you for your interest in learning more about our school and the early childhood programs we offer.

Camelot School is a private school which was originally founded in Hayward in 1978 by Georgina Armstrong, the current owner. The school opened the Castro Valley location in 1990 and merged its two campuses into this one site in 2004.

We are located on a quiet cul-de-sac (see *map) in a residential neighborhood on 5 acres of land, and there are several outdoor play spaces which provide young children of all ages with a variety of age-appropriate outdoor environments in which to safely play and explore. Camelot's early childhood programs are all state licensed and can accommodate a total of 129 children.

Working Together For Your Child's Future

The programs we offer at our school are for infants and toddlers, 2s and 3s, and prekindergarten. In the latter department, we offer two options. The first is a prekindergarten curriculum that includes kindergarten readiness for children who will be entering kindergarten the following year, or those who are a little younger, but may be ready for additional enrichment. The second is a Transitional Kindergarten program that is offered for children in the prekindergarten year who are ready for a more challenging prekindergarten curriculum. This class is taught by a state credentialed teacher and includes pre-reading and pre-math as well as a more structured writing program.

For tuition information, we offer many different options, including full time, part-time, 3/4 time (Infant/Toddler only), half-days, and an option for including a fresh and organic lunch which is prepared in our own kitchen on-site.
